Savepoint - Pick up where you left off
Overview
Remembers your timestamp on YouTube videos, even with watch history off.
Savepoint remembers exactly where you left off on any YouTube video — even with watch history turned off. Many students and learners turn off YouTube watch history to avoid distraction-driven recommendations. It works great, but comes at a cost: YouTube stops remembering where you left off in long videos. Every time you return to a lecture or tutorial, you're hunting for your place manually. Savepoint fixes that silently and automatically. HOW IT WORKS - Saves your playback position every 3 seconds - Automatically resumes where you left off when you reopen a video - Shows a red indicator on thumbnails of videos you've started - Popup shows how many videos are in progress - Works from the YouTube homepage — no manual reloads needed PRIVACY FIRST - Everything is stored locally on your device - Zero data sent to any server - No analytics, no tracking, no accounts required beyond YouTube itself - Each YouTube account's progress is kept private and separate SMART DETECTION - Correctly skips ads before resuming your real video - Automatically clears progress when you finish a video - Works with playlists, search results, subscriptions, and sidebar suggestions - Supports multiple YouTube accounts on the same browser Savepoint is open source. You can read every line of code on GitHub.
