Save to Obsidian
Overview
Save visible ChatGPT conversations to a local Obsidian vault through a localhost helper.
Save to Obsidian lets you save visible ChatGPT conversations directly into your local Obsidian vault. The extension reads the current ChatGPT conversation only when you click a save button. It sends the selected content to a helper app running on your own computer at 127.0.0.1. The helper creates a clean Markdown note with YAML frontmatter and writes it into your configured Obsidian folder. What it does: - Save full ChatGPT conversations as Markdown - Save summary or main idea notes when a local/helper-side AI provider is configured - Preserve the ChatGPT URL in frontmatter - Write notes directly into your Obsidian vault - Keep provider API keys out of the browser extension Privacy and security: - No analytics - No ads - No remote backend operated by the developer - No GitHub token or AI provider API key in the extension - Full saves work without AI - The helper writes only inside your configured vault folder This is a local-first tool for people who use ChatGPT and Obsidian together.
