Overview

Capture papers, articles, books, videos, and any page worth citing into your Folio library in one click.

Save to Folio turns your browser into the front door of your research library. Capture anything worth citing from the page you're reading — and check what you're reading before you trust it. CAPTURE ANYTHING • Click the Folio icon on a paper, news article, book, report, YouTube video, or blog — the source lands in your library with full metadata (title, authors, year, publisher/journal, abstract), classified as the right type. • Right-click any link and choose "Save to Folio" to save that link's target without leaving the page. • Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+F to save the current page silently, with a notification that clicks through to your library. • On Google Scholar, every result gets an inline "+ Folio" button. VERIFY AI CITATIONS Paste text from ChatGPT, Gemini, or a draft into the Verify tab. Folio pulls out every citation and checks each one against the CrossRef database — flagging it real, worth a second look, or not found. The classic "the AI invented a source" problem, caught in seconds. ASK ABOUT THE PAGE Use the Ask tab to ask a question about the paper or article you're on. Folio answers strictly from the text in front of you — perfect for triaging a paper before you decide to save it. WORKS ON arXiv, Nature, Science, Cell, NEJM, JAMA, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, ACM, IEEE, PubMed, bioRxiv, medRxiv, and SSRN — plus news outlets, books, government pages, YouTube, Medium, and general web pages. Anywhere a DOI appears, CrossRef fills in the details. PRIVACY Sign in once at usefolio.co and the extension picks up your session automatically. Every network request the extension makes goes only to usefolio.co, and page content is read only when you trigger a save. Full details: usefolio.co/privacy#extension Built for researchers, by researchers. Free to install — your existing Folio plan applies.
