## Detailed Description ### What Sales Sidekick Does Sales Sidekick is a Chrome extension built for Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and account executives who prospect on LinkedIn. When you visit a LinkedIn profile page, the extension automatically activates and extracts visible profile information from the DOM—name, title, company, about section, and career history. This data is sent to our AI backend, which analyzes it and returns three personalized bullet points for your cold call, a natural call opener, and a confidence rating to help you prioritize outreach. Pro users unlock additional email drafting: the same AI analysis can generate three variants of a personalized email (LinkedIn DM, cold email, follow-up, or custom template) based on your product pitch, ideal customer profile (ICP), and tone preferences stored locally on your machine. ### What It Does NOT Do This extension: - Does **not** access your browsing history - Does **not** scrape or store prospect data beyond the analysis you receive - Does **not** read private messages, DMs, or any LinkedIn data behind paywalls - Does **not** automate outreach or send messages on your behalf - Does **not** store profile data on our servers after analysis is complete ### Data Collection & Usage **What we read:** - Visible profile DOM elements on LinkedIn `/in/` pages (name, title, company, about, career history) **What we send to the backend:** - The visible profile text you want analyzed - Your playbook settings (product pitch, ICP, tone) to customize the AI response **What we do NOT send:** - Your LinkedIn authentication tokens or session data - Profile images or links - Any browsing data outside of the target profile **Retention:** - Profile data is processed and discarded immediately - Playbook and auth tokens are stored locally on your device only - Usage counts for tier management are logged but not linked to personal data ### Free vs Pro Tier **Free Tier** - 10 profile analyses per month - Call talking points and opener - Confidence rating **Pro Tier (via Stripe subscription)** - Unlimited profile analyses - All free tier features, plus: - 3 personalized email draft variants (LinkedIn DM, cold email, follow-up, or custom) - Custom playbook configuration (product pitch, ICP, tone) ### Permissions Explained Sales Sidekick requests minimal permissions: - **`storage`** — Saves your authentication token and playbook settings (product pitch, ICP, tone) locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device. - **`activeTab`** — Reads the current tab's URL to detect when you're on a LinkedIn profile page (`/in/` URLs only). The extension only activates on LinkedIn profiles. - **`linkedin.com/in/*`** — Reads the visible text content from LinkedIn profile pages to extract talking points and context. - **`https://sales-sidekick-backend.onrender.com/*/*`** — Sends the profile data and your playbook to our backend for AI analysis. All other browser activity remains private and untouched. ### How to Use 1. Install the extension and log in with your email. 2. Navigate to any LinkedIn profile page (`linkedin.com/in/...`). 3. Click the ✦ Sales Sidekick button that appears on LinkedIn profile pages to open the analysis panel. 4. Review your three cold-call bullet points, opener, and confidence score. 5. (Pro users) Generate email drafts tailored to your outreach channel. 6. Copy the insights and customize further as needed.
