salamander
Overview
annotate directly on webpage elements. share exactly what you see.
salamander lets you add annotations directly on webpage elements and share them as a file with others. they import it and see your annotations right on the webpage. no more screenshots! in other words, it leaves yellow spots on websites and makes them look like 'salamanders'. how it works: 1. click the salamander button on a website to enter annotation mode. 2. click an element to drop a note — a numbered yellow pin appears on it. 3. export your annotations as a file and share it with others. 4. they open the website, import the file, and your pins appear on the page. note: salamander works best on static and server-rendered websites. it may not work as expected on single-page applications (SPAs) or websites that use advanced front-end frameworks. security note: everything stays on your local machine. no accounts, no servers, no network requests — nothing is sent out unless you explicitly export a file. source code: https://github.com/revanthkrishna/salamander
