Safety Intercept supports the following platforms: - PayPal (Send Money) - Wells Fargo (Zelle) - Gmail (scam email detection) How Safety Intercept Works: 1. Users initiate a payment on PayPal or Wells Fargo Zelle. 2. Safety Intercept analyzes the payment memo and recipient using AI. 3. If it detects a scam, the user receives a warning before the money moves. 4. The user has the option to proceed or cancel the transaction with a single click. Safety Intercept also scans incoming Gmail messages for social engineering patterns commonly found in scams, such as fake emergencies, payment requests from impersonators, and urgency tactics. If a user receives a scam email and attempts a payment within 24 hours, the extension flags the correlation as elevated risk. How Safety Intercept Handles Data: - Payment memos and flagged email content are sent to a secure relay for AI analysis using Anthropic Claude. - Detection events, including the platform, risk score, and timestamp, are logged to enhance detection accuracy. - Optional anonymous telemetry (memo text with personal information stripped) is available, but it is opt-in only and turned off by default. - Users’ financial credentials, full email contents, and contacts are never accessed or transmitted. - A full privacy policy is linked from the listing.
