SafeLink Site Lock

Protect selected websites with a four-digit PIN.

SafeLink Site Lock prevents casual access to websites you choose by redirecting them to a local PIN screen before they load. Add a website from the extension popup and SafeLink protects its base domain, every subdomain and every path. For example, protecting whatsapp.com also protects web.whatsapp.com and api.whatsapp.com. Correct PIN entry unlocks only the current tab. Closing it ends access, and opening the protected site in another tab requires the PIN again. SafeLink stores a randomly salted PBKDF2-SHA-256 derived value in local Chrome extension storage. The extension does not read website page contents or collect browsing history. SafeLink is convenience protection for an already-unlocked computer. It does not protect other browsers, unmanaged Chrome profiles, native applications, malware or administrators who control Chrome or macOS policy.
