Safe Attachment Check is a Chrome extension that helps you review information that may remain inside a file when you attach it to an email, chat, or web form. Before sending a file, you can check for information such as GPS location data in photos, author names in PDFs, tracked changes in Word documents, and hidden sheets in Excel workbooks. The extension only displays the information it finds. It does not modify the file, remove metadata, or automatically stop the upload. After reviewing the results, you decide whether to continue, replace the file, or inspect it more closely. 【Supported file types】 ■ Images（JPEG, PNG, and WebP） ・GPS location data ・Date and time taken ・Camera manufacturer and model ・Creation or editing software ・Other available metadata GPS coordinates are displayed as numerical values. Select a supported file on a web page or attach it by dragging and dropping it. 2. If the extension finds information that may require your attention, it displays a review card on the page. 3. Review the displayed information and decide whether to continue with the file or inspect it again. You can also configure the extension to display a completion message when no review items are found. 【Key features】 ■ Checks files inside your browser File reading and inspection are performed locally in your browser. ■ Does not send files to an external server The extension does not send the file itself, its filename, or the inspection results to an external server. ■ Does not store files The extension does not store inspected files or inspection results. ■ Does not modify files The extension does not delete, edit, or correct metadata, comments, tracked changes, or other file contents. ■ Does not stop uploads The extension does not remove selected files or automatically cancel uploads or sending actions. ■ Can be disabled for individual sites You can disable file inspection on specific websites from the extension settings. ■ No advertising or analytics The extension does not include advertising or analytics features. 【Example uses】 ・Check whether a photo still contains GPS location data before sending it by email or chat. ・Review the author name or company information in a PDF before sharing it with a client. ・Check a Word document for tracked changes or comments before submitting it. ・Review an Excel workbook for hidden sheets, rows, or columns before sharing it. ・Inspect application forms, résumés, and other documents before uploading them. 【What this extension does not do】 ・Modify the contents of a file ・Automatically remove metadata ・Automatically allow or block file uploads ・Scan files for viruses or malware ・Guarantee the prevention of information leakage ・Send or store files or inspection results on an external server ・Collect browsing history or activity history 【Limitations】 Safe Attachment Check does not detect every type of information that may be contained in a file. Even when the extension reports that no review items were found, it does not guarantee that the file contains no personal information, confidential information, or other unintended content. This extension is not a replacement for a data loss prevention system, file sanitization product, antivirus application, or malware scanning service. The following files cannot be inspected: ・Unsupported file formats ・Encrypted files ・Password-protected files The maximum supported file size is 45 MB per file. Up to 20 files can be inspected in a single attachment operation. Take one more look inside your attachments before sending them.
