S3 Browser, WebDAV Client & Cloud Storage Manager — Stream Vessel
Overview
Browse, search, edit and move files on S3, S3-compatible storage and WebDAV (Nextcloud, NAS). Let AI agents work on S3 via MCP.
WORK ACROSS S3 AND WEBDAV. LET AI WORK ON YOUR BUCKETS TOO. We built Stream Vessel as a desktop-style workspace for Amazon S3, S3-compatible storage and WebDAV servers such as Nextcloud, for developers, SREs, DevOps teams and data engineers. Instead of switching between provider consoles, local editors and transfer tools, you can browse, search, edit and move files from one Chrome extension. KEY BENEFITS • Work across storage: open multiple panes side by side and drag files or folders between buckets, accounts, S3-compatible providers and WebDAV servers. Background transfers show progress and let you retry failed items. • Find and fix files faster: search the current folder or an entire bucket by filename or full path, with wildcard support. Open code, configs and text in Monaco—the editor engine behind VS Code—and save changes directly back to storage. • Move data where it needs to go: upload and stream large downloads, preview files, create and organize folders, generate expiring presigned links, and transfer files directly between Google Drive and S3-compatible storage. • Keep access scoped: connections can be limited to a specific bucket or prefix, so Stream Vessel works naturally with least-privilege credentials. • Keep storage healthy: the Maintenance page shows which buckets a stranger can read, finds unfinished uploads you are still paying for and aborts them, and measures how much each bucket holds. • Share with your team: save an S3 connection to your Stream Vessel account, use it from any computer you sign in on, and share it with other people. YOUR OWN CLOUD, IN THE SAME WORKSPACE: WEBDAV Connect Nextcloud, ownCloud, a Synology NAS, Fastmail Files or any other server that speaks WebDAV, and it opens in the same Explorer as your buckets. • Browse, search, preview, download and upload; create folders, edit text files, copy, move and delete. • Open a WebDAV folder beside an S3 bucket and drag files between them. • Sign in with an app password where your server offers one, so you can revoke Stream Vessel's access without changing your account password. • The connection and its password stay on this device, and files travel straight between your browser and your server. WebDAV connections cannot be saved to your account or shared, have no share links, and are not reachable by AI agents. AI THAT WORKS ON YOUR STORAGE Connect Claude or any other MCP-compatible AI client to the S3 connections saved on your account and let it work with the storage itself. Ask it to find outdated configuration values, inspect logs, identify what is consuming space, reorganize a folder, upload new files or clean up stale objects. The agent receives controlled MCP access—not your S3 access keys. Sign in from the AI app and it appears under Connected apps, or issue a token; either can be limited to chosen connections, buckets or folders, set to expire, and revoked. DIRECT BY DESIGN Your file transfers go directly between your browser and your storage provider rather than through a Stream Vessel file-transfer server. Stream Vessel requests host access only for the storage endpoints you use. For everyday work, that means fewer context switches: inspect a bucket, fix a config, move data between providers or hand a bounded task to an AI agent without assembling a separate toolchain. One workspace for files, providers and AI agents. YOUR PERMISSIONS, MINIMIZED Stream Vessel asks for the least access it needs - and nothing more: Access to your storage endpoints, on demand only: Stream Vessel does NOT request standing access to your browsing or to "all your websites." When you open a connection, it asks - through Chrome's own permission prompt - for access to just that connection's host (for example, amazonaws.com for AWS, or the server you entered for other providers and WebDAV). You approve access per connection, and you can revoke it anytime from Chrome's extension settings. Storage: Saves your connections and preferences locally on your device. Credentials for a connection saved on this device never leave your browser. Alarms: Schedules periodic checks for extension updates so you stay on the latest version. Identity: Used when you sign in - to Stream Vessel with Google or GitHub, or to Google when you choose to import from or send to Google Drive. It lets Stream Vessel ask the provider for a sign-in token. The sign-in page is the provider's own, and Stream Vessel never sees your password. Nothing is requested until you click one of those actions, and for Drive, Stream Vessel receives access only to the items you pick - never to your Drive as a whole. Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics (page views, feature usage) are sent to Google Analytics to help improve the extension. No personal data, file contents, object names, or credentials are collected or shared. CONTACT US Please send your questions, error reports, and feature requests to support@streamvessel.com
