Overview
Verify images and videos for authenticity, AI detection, and content provenance — powered by Roots.video
Right-click any image or video on the web to instantly verify its authenticity. Roots Verify checks media against three verification layers: - C2PA Digital Signatures — validates Content Credentials and provenance manifests - AI Content Detection — identifies AI-generated images and videos using metadata forensics - Source Analysis — extracts camera, device, and EXIF data to confirm origin Trust badges appear directly on verified media: - Green = Verified (C2PA signed, clean metadata) - Yellow = Partial (some provenance data found) - Grey = Unverified (no provenance data) - Purple = AI Content (AI generation markers detected) Click any badge to see the full provenance report with individual check results. Built-in free tier included — 100 verifications per day, no account required. Developers can connect their own API key from developers.roots.video for higher limits (5,000/month on the Developer tier). Powered by the Roots Verify API (verify.roots.video) — the same enterprise-grade verification engine used by the Roots.video platform. Privacy: Media URLs are sent to verify.roots.video for analysis. No images or videos are stored. Optional API key is synced via Chrome storage.
