RoomDrop is a local-first browser notes extension for capturing ideas without leaving the page you're on. • Create notes in room-based notebooks.• Press Ctrl+Shift+M to open a floating note editor over the current webpage.• Save selected text, page titles/URLs, and links into a room's Drop Note.• Use Obsidian Dark, Light, or your system theme.• Paste normal URLs as clickable links and use simple Markdown shortcuts.• Work from the popup, Chrome side panel, or full workspace.• Search, pin, move, duplicate, trash, export, and import notes. Privacy: notes and captured content are stored locally in your browser. RoomDrop has no account requirement, no ads, no analytics, and no RoomDrop cloud backend in this version. Single purpose RoomDrop lets users create, organize, and intentionally capture local notes and source links from the current webpage into room-based notebooks. Permission justifications activeTab Gives RoomDrop temporary access to the current tab only after an explicit user action so it can read selected text/page information and show the floating editor or save confirmation on that page. scripting Runs RoomDrop's packaged local scripts in the active tab after a user action to read a selection and inject the floating editor or local save confirmation. No remotely hosted code is executed. contextMenus Adds RoomDrop right-click commands for saving selected text, pages, and links and for opening RoomDrop features. sidePanel Displays RoomDrop's note and capture interface inside Chrome's side panel. Remote code declaration No, I am not using remote code. Data disclosure notes Disclose the current dashboard categories matching: Website content — selected webpage content intentionally captured by the user. Web history / web browsing activity — URLs and page titles intentionally saved by the user. User-generated content — notes written by the user, if that exact category is presented in the current dashboard. RoomDrop stores this data locally in browser IndexedDB. It does not send note/captured content to a RoomDrop server, analytics service, ad service, or data broker. Reviewer instructions RoomDrop requires no account or credentials. On any normal HTTPS page, click the extension icon to open the popup. Use Selection/Page/Drop to capture content. Press Ctrl+Shift+M to create a new note in the default room and open the floating editor over the current page. The extension stores notes locally in IndexedDB. Settings include Light, Obsidian Dark, and system theme. Chrome internal pages such as chrome:// pages do not allow normal page injection.
