Rivet — Download Manager

Send links to your local Rivet queue. Media discovery requires explicit site permission.

Connect Chrome to the free, open-source Rivet desktop download manager. Send download links to your local Rivet queue without copying and pasting between applications. Review and start your downloads in the desktop app. FEATURES • Right-click a link and choose “Send link to Rivet.” • Send direct audio and video file links through the context menu. • Paste an HTTP or HTTPS download URL into the extension popup. • Check the connection to the installed Rivet desktop helper. • Optionally discover direct media links on sites you explicitly allow. • Disable site discovery and remove its permission from the popup. DESKTOP APP REQUIRED This extension requires the Rivet desktop application and its native messaging helper. Install Rivet, open its browser setup, then use “Check connection” in the extension. Download Rivet: https://github.com/Mfuon2/rivet/releases PRIVACY Selected download URLs are sent to the Rivet helper on your own computer and stored in your local download queue. Optional media discovery processes media URLs and response content types on enabled sites. Enabled-site preferences are stored locally. The extension does not forward browser cookies or passwords and includes no advertising or analytics. Starting a download in Rivet contacts the server hosting the selected file. CURRENT LIMITATIONS The extension does not automatically take over browser downloads or forward signed-in browser sessions. HLS and DASH entries can be saved as playlist files; assembling them into complete videos is not supported.
