)Overview
Side-panel extension for filing Azure DevOps work items with screenshots, recordings, and console + network context.
Ripplebug is a fast, modern side-panel extension for filing Azure DevOps work items without leaving your current tab. CAPTURE • Auto-screenshot of the visible tab the moment the panel opens • Drag-to-select region capture with crosshair overlay • Full annotation editor: arrow, box, text, highlight, redact — with undo/redo and a 6-color palette • Up to 60-second tab or screen recording, with multi-clip support per work item CONTEXT • Last 200 console messages auto-captured (errors, warnings, exceptions with full stack traces) • Last 100 network requests with status, duration, and failure tracking • Smart filters skip noise: OPTIONS preflights, analytics, fonts, heartbeat polls • Page URL, viewport, and user-agent attached as a Markdown context file FILE • Smart parent picker with WIQL search across PBI, Story, Feature, Epic, Issue, Bug, and Task • Assignee autocomplete via the Azure DevOps Identity Picker (plain-text fallback if your PAT lacks the Identity scope) • Iteration defaults to the current sprint automatically • Auto-detects your project's process template (Basic, Agile, Scrum, CMMI) and shows only the work item types your project actually supports • Process-aware parent/child hint tells you exactly how the new item will appear on the Taskboard ("Will nest as a card under #X" vs "Linked at row level") • Screenshots and videos embed inline in the work-item description, not just in the Attachments tab UX • Compact side-panel layout designed for narrow widths • OS-following dark/light theme • Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+B (Cmd+Shift+B on Mac) • Click any thumbnail to preview screenshots full-size or play recordings inline PRIVACY Your Personal Access Token is stored locally in your browser only — never transmitted anywhere except to your own Azure DevOps organization. No backend, no analytics, no third-party services, no telemetry. SETUP 1. Create a PAT at https://dev.azure.com/<your-org>/_usersSettings/tokens with "Work Items (Read, write, & manage)" scope. Optionally add "Identity (Read)" for assignee autocomplete. 2. Open the side panel (Ctrl+Shift+B), go to Settings, paste your org slug and PAT, hit Test connection. 3. Capture, annotate, file. Done.
