Riju checks what’s actually in your clothes and your skincare — before you buy. Riju is a one-click scanner for product pages. Click the icon on any clothing listing or soap/skincare/body-care listing, and Riju reads the published product text — material composition or ingredient list — and checks it against a sourced, regularly updated watchlist of flagged substances: things that are banned, restricted, or otherwise documented by regulators and scientific bodies. What Riju checks for right now: Clothing & textiles: PFAS and other “forever chemical” finishes, formaldehyde-resin treatments, azo dyes, flame retardants, and fiber composition (so you can see exactly how much cotton vs. synthetic you’re wearing). Soap, skincare & body care: banned parabens and phthalates, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, triclosan/triclocarban (banned from antibacterial soap), reef-harming UV filters, and EU-restricted fragrance allergens — plus context on common sensitive-skin irritants like sulfate surfactants and denatured alcohol. How it works: Click “Scan this page” and Riju reads the material or ingredient text already published on that page. No account, no server, no tracking — the entire watchlist is bundled inside the extension, and nothing you browse ever leaves your device. Riju only reads the current tab, only when you click, and only the product text itself — never your browsing history, reviews, or anything else on the page. What Riju won’t do: Riju isn’t a lab, and it isn’t a medical or safety verdict. It reads what’s disclosed in published text and tells you honestly what it found and didn’t find — including saying plainly when a page doesn’t give enough information, or when a product type (like household cleaners) isn’t something Riju checks yet. Every flag links back to its actual regulatory or scientific source, so you can verify it yourself rather than taking Riju’s word for it.
