Overview

Connects the Rift desktop assistant to your browser so it can read and act on the active tab when you ask it to.

Rift Browser Bridge connects your Chrome browser to Rift, the desktop screen assistant for your Mac. Rift lets you ask questions about whatever is on your screen and hands off tasks like opening pages, clicking buttons, filling in text, and playing music. On its own, a desktop app can only guess where things are in a browser by looking at pixels. This extension removes the guesswork: when you give Rift a task that involves the web, it can read the structure of your active tab and act precisely — clicking the actual button, typing into the actual field. WHAT IT DOES • Lets Rift read the content and layout of your active tab when you ask a question about it • Lets Rift click, type, navigate, and switch tabs on your behalf when you hand it a task • Lets Rift see which tabs are playing audio so it can control music and video for you PRIVACY • Works only when the Rift desktop app is running and you invoke it • Talks exclusively to the Rift app on your own computer (localhost) — no external servers • Collects nothing, stores nothing, sells nothing; no analytics, no tracking • Sits idle unless you ask Rift to do something involving your browser
