Overview
Built for teachers - show students' history of edits in a Google Doc
Revision History helps teachers see students' process when they write essays in Google Docs. It is meant to help teachers guide their students through revisions as well as to ensure that students are not just copy/pasting text from AI/LLMs/ChatGPT or other sources. With Revision History, you can see: - How many edits students made to their essays - How long they spent writing - What snippets they copy/pasted - Watch a video replaying the document being written It also works with documents submitted to Google Classroom (as long as they were drafted in Google Docs).

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the tool. However, we don't believe that Revision History poses any privacy or security risks for our users. Currently, we use our servers only for authentication purposes, which is handled by Supabase, an open-source, industry leading tool with excellent security features, including SOC II compliance. All other data is handled locally, on users' machines. You can verify this by looking at network requests in the chrome dev tools. If you reach out to info@revisionhistory.com, we'd be happy to walk you through our security features, and for school districts, we are happy to arrange access to the source code for your own security reviews.

This helped me immensely with grading assignments. Being able to see the keystroke history was so incredibly helpful and streamlined the process. Two recommendations: 1. Sometimes it shows students have pasted the same text multiple times over and over again. I saw one student had over 101 pastes of the same text when I know that isn't the case. 2. Extend this to be able to see revision history for more than just google docs. I want to see revision history for google slides as well.
