Overview

Tracks return windows and warranty deadlines from your orders and reminds you before they expire. No account needed.

ReturnGuard automatically catches the two deadlines people miss most after buying something online: the return window and the warranty. HOW IT WORKS Shop as usual. When you land on an order confirmation page — "thank you for your order," "your order is confirmed," and similar — a small card appears in the corner offering to track it. ReturnGuard pulls out the product name, price, and (when the store states it) the exact return deadline or warranty length directly from the page. If the store doesn't say, it falls back to sensible per-retailer defaults (Amazon 30 days, Best Buy 15 days, IKEA 365 days, and more) that you can edit any time in Settings. One click saves it. No account, no sign-in required. NEVER MISS A DEADLINE A background check runs every few hours and sends you a normal Chrome notification 7 days, 3 days, 1 day, and on the day a return window or warranty is about to close — while there's still time to act. ONE DASHBOARD FOR EVERYTHING YOU'RE TRACKING Click the toolbar icon to see every tracked purchase in one place, color-coded by urgency, with a badge count on the icon for anything closing within a week. Add items manually too, for gift receipts, in-store purchases, or anything the detector misses. PRIVACY, BY DESIGN Everything is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage — there is no server, no account, no analytics, and no data ever leaves your device. ReturnGuard requests broad site access only so it can look for order-confirmation keywords on the page you're already viewing; it is never used for any other purpose and nothing is transmitted anywhere. WHY THIS EXISTS Good tools already exist for tracking subscriptions and vaulting warranty documents. What's missing is something that catches the shortest, easiest deadline to blow — the return window — automatically, at the exact moment you buy something, without asking you to scan a receipt or sign up for anything. WORTH KNOWING Detection is keyword and pattern based, so it will occasionally miss a confirmation page or offer to track something that isn't one — just dismiss it. Default return windows are general estimates, not legal fact, so always confirm anything expensive directly with the retailer.
