Retro Maps overlays a retro halftone, dithered, palette-driven visual effect on Google Maps Street View. Walk through any city in a hand-painted, 8-bit comic-book style. Optional Game Mode turns it into a low-fi survival game: avoid getting your cursor over people, cars, and other obstacles as you click through the world. Lose all four lives and you die - but how far did you make it? Features - Live halftone shader applied to Street View in real time - Customizable color palette (background, shadows, midtones, highlights) - Effect controls (dot size, crush, brightness, noise) - On-device object detection highlights people, vehicles, and street fixtures - Game Mode with hearts, distance tracking, and a "you died" finale - Take Photo button to save your current view as a PNG - Keyboard shortcuts: Space to hide menu, P to take a photo, R to reset settings Privacy All processing happens locally in your browser.
