Overview

Local-first AI browser memory: capture pages, search them, ask an on-device model, and jump back to exact spots — all local.

Retrace is a private, on-device memory for your browsing. It quietly captures the pages you visit into a local store on your machine, so you can: • Find anything you've read — full-text and semantic search over your own history, not the web. • Ask an on-device AI model about what you've seen — answers are grounded in your captured pages and run on a local model via the Retrace desktop app, not a cloud service. • Jump back to the exact spot on a page where you saw something. Retrace is local-first by design. Captured page content is processed and stored on your device. It is never sold, and it never leaves your machine except for a small set of clearly-labeled calls to our own service (license checks, and — only if you opt in — diagnostics and feedback). See our privacy policy for the full list. Requires the free Retrace desktop app for the on-device AI ("Ask"); "Find" works in the extension alone.
