Retouch: fix the HTML your AI wrote

Edit the text of local HTML pages in place and save straight back to the file. Nothing leaves your machine.

Figma is for designers. VSCode is for engineers. Retouch is for everyone else who uses AI to build HTML pages — reports, dashboards, one-pagers — and wants full control to make the last-mile changes and polish, without another prompt, another wait, another file. Open the file in Chrome, click the Retouch icon, click any text, change it, press Save. The file on your disk is updated in place, in seconds. WHAT IT DOES • Edit text in place. Only the runs you changed are rewritten; everything else stays byte for byte as your AI left it. • Inline formatting: bold, italic, code, links, underline, strikethrough (⌘B, ⌘I, ⌘K), plus alignment, font size and line height. • Lists that behave like a word processor: bullets or numbers, Enter for the next item, Backspace to merge, and Join to pull the next paragraphs in. Switch heading levels too. • Undo and redo every change while you edit. After a Save, undo it, or restore any earlier version from History, kept on your computer only. • Styles, colors and fonts offered only from the page's own stylesheet, described in plain words. Nothing is invented, so nothing looks pasted in. • Fill empty cells and paragraphs. Replace images and alt text; the new image is copied next to the page. • Can't fix it yourself? Point at anything — an element or a region — leave a note, and copy one prompt with every request back to your AI. • Built for real AI pages: values the page's own scripts change while it runs (counters, rotating words, scroll animations) never end up in your file, and text a script generates is refused, not silently corrupted. WHAT IT NEVER DOES • No server, no account, no upload, no analytics. Retouch makes no network requests. • No access to websites. Press "Open Chrome Settings" and switch on "Allow access to file URLs". Chrome hides local files from extensions until you do. Restart Chrome. 3.
