Retouch: fix the HTML your AI wrote

Edit the text of local HTML pages in place and save straight back to the file. Nothing leaves your machine.

Retouch is a pencil for the HTML pages your AI keeps generating: reports, dashboards, one-pagers. They arrive read-only. A typo means another prompt, another wait, another file. With Retouch you open the file in Chrome, click the Retouch icon, click any text, change it, press Save. The file on your disk is updated in place, in seconds. WHAT IT DOES • Edit text in place. Only the runs you changed are rewritten; everything else stays byte for byte as your AI left it. • Inline formatting: bold, italic, code, links (⌘B, ⌘I, ⌘K). • Styles, colors and fonts offered only from the page's own stylesheet, described in plain words. Nothing is invented, so nothing looks pasted in. • Fill empty cells and paragraphs. Replace images and alt text; the new image is copied next to the page. • Text that a script generates at load is refused, not silently corrupted. WHAT IT NEVER DOES • No server, no account, no upload, no analytics. Retouch makes no network requests. • No access to websites. In the extension's details, switch on "Allow access to file URLs". Chrome hides local files from extensions until you do. Restart Chrome. 3.
