Overview

A utility for conveniently adjusting the size of browser windows.

Resize Windows for Google Chrome™ – Set Any Browser Window to an Exact Size in One Click Resize Windows for Google Chrome™ is a lightweight, privacy-friendly utility that lets you set the exact width and height of any Chrome window in a single click. Whether you are a web developer testing responsive layouts, a designer checking how a page looks on a phone or tablet, a content creator recording clean screencasts, or simply someone who likes their windows arranged neatly, this extension gives you precise control over your browser window without dragging edges or guessing at pixel values. WHY YOU NEED IT Chrome lets you drag a window to roughly the size you want, but it never tells you the real dimensions, and it is almost impossible to hit an exact number such as 1280 × 720 or 375 × 667 by hand. Resize Windows removes that guesswork. Open the popup, pick a size, and the current window instantly snaps to those precise dimensions. Every action goes through Chrome's official windows API, so it is fast, reliable and works on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. KEY FEATURES • Ready-to-use presets The extension ships with a curated list of the most common screen sizes: iPhone 5 (320 × 568), iPhone 6 (375 × 667), iPad (1024 × 768), Laptop (1440 × 900) and popular desktop resolutions such as 1680 × 1050, 1920 × 1080 (Full HD) and 2560 × 1440 (QHD). • Custom sizes Need something that is not in the list? Type any width and height in pixels and press Add. Your custom size joins the Presets list and stays there until you delete it, so your favourite dimensions are always at hand. The extension validates your input and warns you if a size is invalid or already exists. • Get Current Size Not sure what size your window is right now? Click "Get Current Size" and the extension reads the live dimensions of the active window and fills them into the width and height fields. • Recent sizes Every size you apply is automatically remembered in the Recent tab, which keeps the last five sizes you used, making it easy to jump between two or three sizes while testing. A small counter on the tab shows how many entries are available, and you can remove any entry with one click. • Window position Resizing is only half of the job. The Window Position section lets you snap the window to the Top Left, Top Right, Center, Bottom Left or Bottom Right of your screen. The position applies immediately and is also re-applied after every resize, so you can, for example, always keep a 1280 × 720 recording window perfectly centred on your monitor. • Light and dark themes A single button in the header toggles between light and dark mode, and your choice is remembered. The interface is clean, accessible and keyboard-friendly. • Available in more than 40 languages The popup is fully localised, including Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese and many more. Chrome picks the right language automatically. WHO IS IT FOR? • Web developers and QA testers who need to verify responsive breakpoints at exact widths without opening DevTools every time. • UI/UX designers reviewing mock-ups and prototypes at real device dimensions. • YouTubers, teachers and support staff who record tutorials and want a consistent, tidy window size in every video. • Anyone who works with several windows side by side and wants them aligned to predictable sizes and positions. PRIVACY AND PERFORMANCE Resize Windows for Google Chrome™ is built on Manifest V3 and requests only the permissions it genuinely needs: "windows" to resize and move the current window, "storage" to remember your presets, recent sizes and theme, and "activeTab"/"scripting" to read the current size. It does not track you, does not collect browsing data, does not inject ads and does not send anything to external servers. The extension works completely offline, and because it runs as an on-demand service worker it uses virtually no memory or CPU when the popup is closed. HOW TO USE 1. Click the Resize Windows icon in the Chrome toolbar. 2. Choose a preset, pick a size from the Recent tab, or expand Custom Size and enter your own width and height. 3. Optionally choose a screen position such as Center or Top Left. 4. Done – the window is resized instantly. A built-in Help button links to a short tutorial, and a Feedback & Suggestions link lets you tell us which features you would like to see next. Stop wrestling with window edges. Install Resize Windows for Google Chrome™ and get a pixel-perfect browser window in one click. Google Chrome™ is a trademark of Google LLC.
