Repro Screenshots is a screenshot and screen recording extension for Chrome. Capture a full scrolling page, a selected region, a single element or your whole desktop — or record a tab, just an area of it, or your screen with a webcam bubble — then annotate, redact, trim and share. Everything runs on your device: no account, no watermark, no time limit. Screenshots Full page screenshot. Long pages are scrolled and stitched into one tall image. Sticky headers are removed so they don't repeat down the page, and inner scrolling panels are detected in web apps that don't scroll the window — the two things that break most scrolling-screenshot extensions. Very long pages are scaled to fit rather than cut off. Selected area. Drag a region, adjust the edges, annotate it in place, then copy or save. Element capture. Hover to highlight any element on the page — a card, a table, an error panel — and click to capture exactly that, cropped at full resolution. Visible area and desktop. One shortcut for the current viewport, or capture a screen, window or another tab through Chrome's share picker. Capture delay. A 3 or 5 second countdown lets you open menus, tooltips and hover states before the shutter fires. Screen recording Record a tab, an area of a tab, your desktop, or screen with webcam. "Area of tab" is the custom-region mode: drag a rectangle and only that part is recorded. Camera mode records your screen with a circular webcam bubble you can drag anywhere — switch the camera off mid-recording and it becomes your initials. While recording, a floating bar gives you a live timer, pause and resume, stop, and discard. From it you can draw on the page (freehand, rectangle, arrow, four colours), switch on a cursor spotlight with click ripples, and drop timeline markers with the M key. The bar collapses to just the timer, pause and stop — or can be hidden entirely in Settings. Audio. Microphone narration and tab audio are mixed together, so you can talk over a video demo without silencing it. System audio is captured too where your platform supports it. Quality. Up to 16 Mbps, up to 4K, 30 or 60 fps — capped to what your hardware can deliver. Editing and sharing Annotate: arrows, boxes, circles, freehand, highlighter, text and auto-numbered step badges. Drag any mark to reposition it, resize it from its corner, or nudge it with the arrow keys. Saved screenshots reopen fully editable — annotations are stored as objects, not baked into the pixels. Redact with a solid cover that removes the pixels underneath, or blur to obscure them. Redaction survives export, so the original content cannot be recovered from the file you share. Trim and export GIF. Every recording opens in a timeline with a filmstrip, draggable in and out handles, a playhead and your markers as clickable ticks. Export a trimmed WebM or an animated GIF that drops straight into a ticket, pull request or chat message. Save where you want. Captures go to your Downloads folder, or a folder you pick. Name them with templates like {title}-{date}, and choose PNG, JPEG or WebP with a quality slider. Frequently asked questions How do I take a full page screenshot? Open the extension and choose Full page, or press Ctrl+Shift+F (Cmd+Shift+F on Mac). The page scrolls automatically and is saved as one tall image. Can I record only part of a tab? Yes. Choose "Area of tab" as the recording source, drag the rectangle you want, and only that region is recorded — with audio, pause and annotation working as normal. Can I record my screen with my face in the corner? Yes. Choose "Screen + cam" and your webcam appears as a circle on the page, bottom-left by default and draggable anywhere. You can switch the camera off mid-recording (it becomes an initials avatar) or dismiss the bubble entirely. How do I capture just one element, like a table or a card? Choose Element, hover until the element you want is outlined, then click. It's saved cropped to that element's exact bounds. How do I hide sensitive information before sharing? Use the redact tool for a solid cover that removes the pixels underneath, or blur to pixelate them. Redaction is applied to the exported file, so nothing underneath can be recovered. Is there a watermark, a time limit or a sign-up? No. There's no watermark, no recording length limit, no account, and no paid tier gating the features above. Can I turn a screen recording into a GIF? Yes. Open any recording, set in and out points on the timeline, and export as an animated GIF at 5, 10 or 15 fps, or as a trimmed WebM. Where are my captures saved? To your Downloads folder in a "Repro Screenshots" subfolder — or a folder you choose in Settings — plus a local in-browser library for quick access. You can also upload individual captures to your own Google Drive. Does it work offline? Yes. All capture, editing and encoding happens on your device. The only network feature is the optional Google Drive upload. Does mic narration replace the tab's own sound? No. Microphone and tab audio are mixed into one track, so a narrated demo keeps the page's audio. What format are recordings? WebM, with a duration header written in so the timeline is seekable in external players such as VLC and QuickTime. Access to page content powers region selection, full-page stitching, element highlighting, the webcam bubble and the recording control bar on whichever site you're capturing. Camera and microphone are used only while recording, and only if you enable them. Google sign-in is requested only if you connect Google Drive.
