Job boards are full of recycled listings: roles posted, withdrawn, and re-listed under tweaked titles months later; "ghost jobs" that have been open for half a year; the same role surfaced three times under different departments. Repostd flags these patterns the moment you open the listing, so you can decide what to do with the information. Everything stays in your browser. No servers, no accounts, no telemetry. At a glance A toolbar badge summarizes the listing: ✓ for a fresh, clean posting; 30+ / 60+ / 90+ for staleness tiers; ! or !! when the role looks like a repost. The popup shows concrete evidence — how long the role has been listed, whether you've seen the same job ID or a near-identical role at the same company, whether you've already applied — instead of a single verdict label. A scrollable history of every job you've viewed, with one-click JSON export and import for backup or moving between machines. How repost detection works Repostd computes a canonical title for each role, aggressive enough that "Senior Software Engineer, Platform" and "Sr. Software Engineer II — Remote" reduce to the same key. It then checks for matches at four tiers: exact same job ID; same role + department + location with mild description overlap; same canonical title with strong description overlap; same canonical title alone. The matched listing's title is shown in the popup so you can verify the claim, not just trust it. Posting age is read from each board's public job-board API and binned into FRESH, LINGERING, STALE, or ANCIENT. If the API is unreachable, the popup falls back to what's on the page and omits the tier rather than guessing. The only outbound network calls are to each supported board's public job-board API, used to read structured metadata about the listing you're viewing. Nothing is sent to a Repostd server because there isn't one.
