Repost & Quote Splitter for X
Overview
Separate reposts and quotes on your X (Twitter) timeline. Show only what you want with one click.
Repost & Quote Splitter — see reposts and quotes as separate things, not one blurry stream. On X (Twitter), your timeline mixes three very different kinds of posts together: what someone actually wrote, what they simply reposted, and what they quoted with their own comment. This extension tells them apart automatically and lets you show only the kinds you want — with one click. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT IT DOES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Adds "Repost" and "Quote" tabs to any profile's tab bar, right after "Posts". • Click a tab to see only that kind of post in the profile's Posts view; click it again to go back to everything. • The new tabs look and behave like X's own tabs — they inherit the native styling. • On the home timeline (and anywhere off-profile), a small filter panel does the same job, with live counts and "Reposts only" / "Quotes only" buttons. • Keeps working as you scroll — newly loaded posts are classified automatically. • Hidden posts collapse cleanly, with no leftover gaps in the feed. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHY YOU MIGHT WANT IT ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Reading someone's profile and want only what THEY wrote? The Posts tab already hides reposts — now the Repost tab collects them separately too. • Only want to see what they quoted with their own take? Open the Quote tab. • Curious how much of a feed is actually reposts vs quotes? The panel's live counts tell you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW IT WORKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 1. Open someone's profile on x.com or twitter.com. Two new tabs — Repost and Quote — appear next to Posts. 2. The extension reads each post's structure: the context line above it ("… reposted") marks a repost, and an embedded post card inside it marks a quote. Pinned posts and ads are treated as originals. 3. Click Repost or Quote and the Posts list is narrowed to just that type. Click the active tab again to restore the full list. 4. Off-profile (home, search, etc.), use the corner filter panel instead — toggle each type on or off, and your choice is remembered for next time. A post that is both (someone reposting a quote) shows up under either tab. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVACY ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • No data is collected, stored, or sent anywhere — ever. • No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no developer-operated servers. • No login, no account connection, no access to your posts or messages. • Everything happens inside your own browser. The only thing saved is which filters you turned on, kept locally on your device. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ GOOD TO KNOW ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Runs only on x.com and twitter.com. It requests no access to any other site. • It hides posts from view only — it never blocks, mutes, unfollows, or changes anything on your account. • X changes its page structure from time to time. If classification ever looks off, please open an issue and it will be updated. • This is an independent open-source project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp.
