Turn test logs into share-ready reports: analyze pipelines, extract failures, and generate Teams-ready formats
ReportingGenius is a smart Chrome side panel extension built for QA teams and developers who spend too much time manually compiling CI/CD pipeline results into shareable reports. Open it once, scan your GitLab tabs, and get a structured, professional report ready to paste into Slack, Teams, Jira, or email — in seconds. Works with any GitLab instance including self-hosted, and any project structure. HOW IT WORKS ReportingGenius opens as a side panel on the right side of Chrome. You keep your GitLab CI job tabs open alongside it, scan them with one click, and the extension extracts pass, fail, pending, and skipped counts automatically. Results from multiple pipelines accumulate in append mode so you can build a complete picture across several runs before generating your final report. THREE WAYS TO BRING IN LOG DATA 1. GitLab Tab Scan: Detect and scan open GitLab CI job tabs automatically. Works with any GitLab host or project. 2. File Upload: Upload a raw log file directly if you have it saved locally. 3. Paste Log: Paste raw log text into the panel for instant analysis without opening any tab. FAILURE REASON ANALYSIS Open your Tesults results tabs alongside GitLab and click Prepare Failure Reason Table. ReportingGenius cross-references the failure detail from Tesults with the GitLab results and builds a combined Failed Case Reason table automatically. REPORT GENERATION Choose from two output formats: - Default Format: Auto-generated pipeline summary with pass/fail stats, a failed case table, and failure reasons. Downloadable as HTML or plain text. - Custom Format: Describe the report you want in plain English. Attach screenshots and extra context. Generate a Word-compatible .doc or .txt report using your own AI API key. AI REPORT ENHANCEMENT Connect your own API key for OpenAI, OpenRouter, Groq, or Gemini to generate custom-format reports in natural language. Your key is saved locally on your device and sent directly to your chosen provider — never to us. RUN FAILING TESTS DIRECTLY FROM VS CODE After analysis, the Run in VS Code panel lists every failing spec file. Set up the included companion server (a single Node.js file you copy into your project root) and click Run on any failing spec to launch Cypress with a targeted grep pattern. All failing tests for a spec run in a single Chrome launch. Results update automatically in the report when tests pass. KEY FEATURES - Scans open GitLab CI job tabs across any host or project - Accepts log data via file upload or paste, not just live tabs - Merges results across multiple pipelines in append mode - Cross-references Tesults failure detail automatically - Generates HTML, text, and Word-compatible reports - AI-powered custom report generation using your own API key - Run failing Cypress tests directly from VS Code via companion server - Copy any report to clipboard for instant pasting into Slack or Teams - Opens as a Chrome side panel — stays visible while you work - All data stored locally — nothing sent to our servers PRIVACY AND SECURITY ReportingGenius does not transmit any data to AIdriventesting.ai. All pipeline analysis, report generation, and test results are processed and stored locally in your browser. The optional AI report feature sends your report summary directly to the AI provider you choose using your own API key. The VS Code companion server runs entirely on your own machine. DESIGNED FOR - QA Engineers managing CI/CD pipeline results across multiple runs - QA Leads who need professional reports for daily standups or stakeholder updates - Developers who want to re-run only the failing Cypress tests after a pipeline break - Teams using GitLab CI with or without Tesults for failure tracking ReportingGenius makes pipeline reporting faster, smarter, and less manual for QA teams and developers.
