Overview

Pick any page element and report it (bug, story, issue) to Azure DevOps — with screenshot, comments and on-page badges.

Reporter (Azure) lets your team capture bugs, user stories and issues directly from any web page and submit them to your own Azure DevOps project — without ever leaving the page. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ WHAT IT DOES ═══════════════════════════════════════════ - Click any element on any web page and report it as a Bug, User Story or Issue - Annotate with title, severity (for bugs) and reproduction steps - Auto-capture a screenshot of the page with the picked element highlighted - Mark up screenshots with rectangles, arrows (straight or curved), numbered circles, a highlighter and free-hand drawing — in 5 colors and 3 stroke widths - Record short screen videos (up to 60 s) and attach them as MP4 / WebM to any existing report - See existing reports as color-coded badges directly on the page — red = Bug, blue = User Story, orange = Issue - Each badge has a Figma-style comment bubble — click it for a quick comment thread without leaving the page - Paste screenshots from clipboard (Cmd/Ctrl + V) or drag-and-drop image files onto any modal — annotate, then upload (image files only, no executables or PDFs) - Click a badge to open an in-page detail modal with comments, attachments (images and videos) and inline title editing - @-mention teammates in comments and descriptions — Azure DevOps sends them a notification - Add new comments, screenshots or recordings to existing reports without leaving the page - Filter reports by author ("Only my") and search by ID or author name - Navigate between reports on a page using arrow keys or in-modal nav buttons - Apply a report to a whole web (URL pattern) instead of a single page - Custom tags per team (e.g. "Frontend", "QA") added alongside the built-in system tag - Optional auto-attached browser context (browser, OS, viewport, URL, timestamp) and recent console errors for faster triage - Keyboard shortcut Cmd / Ctrl + Shift + B starts the picker without opening the popup ═══════════════════════════════════════════ AVAILABLE IN 7 LANGUAGES ═══════════════════════════════════════════ English, Čeština, Deutsch, Español (LATAM), Français, Polski, Português (Brasil). The plugin auto-detects your browser language on first run; the entire popup, in-page picker, modals, toasts and recording controls re-render in your chosen language. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ HOW IT WORKS ═══════════════════════════════════════════ 1. A guided 4-step setup wizard appears on first launch and asks for: • Your Azure DevOps organization and project • A Personal Access Token (PAT) with Work Items (Read, Write & Manage) scope • (Optional) Area Path and base URL pattern for auto-scan 2. On any page, click the extension icon → "Add report" 3. Hover and click an element on the page 4. A floating panel lets you navigate to a parent element if needed, or toggle "whole-web scope" 5. Click "Continue" → a modal opens with all fields pre-filled, a screenshot preview, optional annotation editor and a live Azure DevOps preview 6. Submit. You'll get a link to the created work item. 7. Need to add a screen recording or another screenshot later? Open any report via the popup list, click the "+" button on its row, or simply paste/drag-drop a screenshot anywhere into the in-page detail modal. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ PRIVACY & SECURITY ═══════════════════════════════════════════ - Your PAT is stored locally in your browser, never sent anywhere except dev.azure.com - All Azure DevOps communication uses HTTPS - No analytics, no tracking, no third-party services other than Azure DevOps and Google Fonts (for typography) - Recommended: use a PAT with minimum scope (Work Items only) and short expiration (30–90 days) See the privacy policy for full details. ═══════════════════════════════════════════ TYPICAL USE CASES ═══════════════════════════════════════════ - UX teams reporting bugs found while testing a product - Product managers capturing feature requests with visual context - QA engineers logging defects with one-click screenshots - Anyone who reports bugs to Azure DevOps and wants to do it faster ═══════════════════════════════════════════ REQUIREMENTS ═══════════════════════════════════════════ - Microsoft Azure DevOps Services or Azure DevOps Server account - A Personal Access Token (PAT) — create one at https://dev.azure.com/{your-org}/_usersSettings/tokens - Chrome 114+ or Edge 114+ (Manifest V3) ═══════════════════════════════════════════ NOT INCLUDED / NOT SUPPORTED ═══════════════════════════════════════════ - OAuth login (PAT-based authentication only) - On-premise Azure DevOps Server with custom domains (requires a URL pattern in Settings) - Bulk operations (one report at a time)
