RemoveAnnoyance
Overview
Removes cookie and GDPR consent dialogs, newsletter popups and notification prompts. Clicks "Reject" for you, never "Accept".
Read the page, not the popups. RemoveAnnoyance removes cookie and GDPR consent dialogs, newsletter popups, push notification prompts and other annoyances before they get in your way. Where a site insists on an answer, it clicks "Reject" or "Only necessary" for you – never "Accept". WHAT IT REMOVES • Cookie and GDPR consent dialogs, both from the common consent platforms and made by the site itself • Cookie walls and locked scrolling • Newsletter and e-mail sign-up popups • Push notification prompts • "Subscribe" / "Become a member" bars and overlays • App banners and other overlays HOW IT WORKS 1. Block – consent-banner and notification scripts are stopped before they load (Chrome's declarativeNetRequest; the extension never reads your traffic). 2. Hide – what is left is hidden with CSS at page start; scrolling is unlocked. 3. Answer – the site is told "no" in advance where it reads a stored decision. 4. Reject – remaining consent dialogs are answered with "Reject" / "Only necessary". The clicker only presses exact reject phrases in floating dialogs, never links or forms, and stops as soon as you click anything yourself. FEATURES • Works right away: no setup, no list picking. On first run it downloads and compiles its filter lists and shows the progress. • The right lists for where you are: general lists are always on; regional lists are added for your country and browser languages (14 regional lists). Every list can be switched on or off. • Built on well-known community filter lists, used unchanged and refreshed in the background (each one is credited with its licence in the options). • Transparent: every rule RemoveAnnoyance adds is readable in the options. • Off for a site in one click, with counters of what was hidden, clicked and blocked. • Report a page where something slipped through, from the popup. • Fast: network rules run inside Chrome; tested on 540 popular sites in 16 languages. • Private: no accounts, no analytics, no tracking. Not an ad blocker: ads are left alone, so it works next to the ad blocker you already use.
