Remove Multi Titles (YouTube)
Overview
Pins the first-seen title and thumbnail per video on YouTube (watch, Shorts, and lists) to reduce A/B title and thumbnail flicker.
YouTube sometimes shows different titles and thumbnails for the same video (for example A/B tests). This add-on remembers the first title and thumbnail you see for each video and keeps showing that on the player and in list-style pages (home, subscriptions, search, related videos, and similar). How it works: The first time a title/thumbnail appears for a video, it is saved locally in your browser. On later visits, that same one is always shown again for that video ID. Updates run after navigation (including YouTube’s in-page history changes), with short retries so metadata can load—there is no aggressive continuous polling of the whole page. Scope: The add-on only runs on youtube.com. It does not run on other sites. Privacy: No accounts, no analytics, and no requests to our servers. Pinned items are stored only in the browser’s extension storage on your device. See the privacy policy link on this listing for details. Requirements: Firefox 140 or newer (desktop). Firefox for Android 142 or newer, where applicable. Source & issues: https://github.com/Arzuparreta/remove-multi-titles-yt --- • Patch Notes v2.4.0 Fixed occasional YouTube lag and title/thumbnail mismatches. This update changes how the extension works internally: it now intercepts YouTube video data in the page context before YouTube renders it, instead of relying heavily on DOM corrections after render. This makes title and thumbnail pinning more reliable and reduces unnecessary work on dynamic YouTube pages. Changes: - Improved reliability for pinned titles and thumbnails. - Reduced risk of wrong thumbnails or titles appearing on recycled YouTube cards. - Reduced DOM fallback scanning to lower performance impact. - Updated Chrome and Firefox store packages for version 2.4.0.
