Overview
Use your phone or laptop as the microphone, camera and speaker of the computer you remote into.
Talk, listen and be seen in web meetings on another computer you control, with the phone or laptop in front of you. Remote desktop carries the screen, the keyboard and the mouse, but not your voice or your face. This extension adds Remote Visio Microphone, Camera and Speaker to the sites you turn on, next to the computer's own. HOW IT WORKS 1. Add it on the computer you control, and pin its button. 2. Click the button, then "Pair a device". On your phone or laptop, open remotevisio.com/send, press "Pair a computer", and scan the QR code or paste the link. Type the 6-digit number the page shows into the approval window, click Allow, then finish on the page. You do this once. 3. Turn your meeting's site on, once: with its tab open, click the button, then "Use Remote Visio on …", and accept if Chrome asks. Then click Reload. 4. Press Start on your phone or laptop. Its microphone and camera are then used by default; if a call picks other ones, change them in its settings. To hear the call there, choose Remote Visio Speaker as its speaker. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No access to any website at install: it runs only on the sites you turn on, each with Chrome's own permission, and you can switch them off at any time. • Audio and video go directly between your two devices, encrypted, never through our servers, and are never recorded. Our relay only passes the connection setup, encrypted end to end. • Only devices you pair can connect, one at a time, until you remove them. • It reads no page content. • No account, no analytics, no code loaded from the internet. REQUIREMENTS • Where you add it: Chrome or another Chromium-based browser, version 119 or later. Built and tested on macOS; Windows, Linux and ChromeOS run it too but are untested. On Windows and Linux, keep a browser window open. • On your side: any up-to-date browser, with nothing to install. • Internet on both sides, and a direct connection between them: audio and video never go through a server. A network that blocks direct connections, or a setting or policy that blocks WebRTC, stops the call. GOOD TO KNOW • Reload any page you opened before turning its site on, or before an update of the extension. • Private windows need "Allow in Incognito" in the extension's details. • Desktop meeting apps can't use these devices: join from the meeting's website instead. • If Chrome clears the extension's data to free disk space, or your phone's browser clears its own after a week without a visit, pair again.
