Overview
Spot clickbait and misinformation while you browse, and collect sources for your own research, right on the page.
Remedia helps you read the news with context, and helps journalists and fact-checkers collect what they find. WHILE YOU BROWSE - Alternative titles – when a headline is clickbait, Remedia can show a clearer title in its place. Hover the icon to see the original. - Fact-check context – see fact-checkers' reviews of an article and of the claims made in it, while you read. - Badges on links – a small circle next to a link tells you Remedia has more information about that article. - Dislike and report – mark a misleading article, or send a suspicious one for checking. - Suggest a portal – tell Remedia about a news site it doesn't follow yet. FOR RESEARCH AND JOURNALISTS - Watch a page – NEW. Right-click any page, part of a page, or a link, and Remedia checks it for changes in content, not in layout. When something changes you get a notification with what was added and removed, and every version is kept as evidence (text, date and fingerprint) in your research folder. Pages behind a login, such as social networks, can't be watched. - Save to sources – select text on any article, right-click and save the passage, with your own note, into a research folder on Remedia. Your folders are private unless you share them. - Save evidence – capture a post with a screenshot and its text before it is edited or deleted. BETA TOOLS (for approved accounts, Facebook only for now) - Summarize article – when a post hides what an article says, Remedia reads the article and drafts a short, neutral summary. You review it and decide whether to post it. Nothing is posted automatically. - Draft a reply – a suggested reply to a comment, based on facts. You edit it and post it yourself. - Report comments – collect comments under a news post for moderation review. Commenters' names and photos are blurred in screenshots. Support for other sites is planned. WHAT IT CHANGES ON A PAGE It adds small badges next to links that have data on Remedia and replaces a headline only when an alternative exists. Everything else happens only when you click an item in the right-click menu. PRIVACY Remedia does not run on email, documents, chat and similar private pages, and you can exclude any site yourself. Text is sent to Remedia only when you choose an action. When you watch a page, Remedia receives its address and the part you selected, plus a screenshot of what you see at that moment; checks after that are made by Remedia's server, not your browser. Signing in is optional for reading; it is needed for saving, watching pages and beta tools. Full policy: https://remedia.social Remedia is an open platform for checking news and claims.
