Region Checker for AWS Console

Unofficial. Shows the current region in the AWS Management Console and keeps the banner until you type the region code.

Shows a banner in the AWS Management Console that stays visible until you enter the current region. It helps you notice when you may be working in an unintended region. How it works - A banner below the console navigation bar shows the current region, such as "Current region: ap-northeast-1", with a text field. - Enter the displayed region code to dismiss the banner (case-insensitive). - The banner appears again when you switch regions in the same tab. - On services without a regional endpoint, such as IAM, the banner shows "Global". Permissions and data - Runs only on the AWS Management Console (*.console.aws.amazon.com). - Uses the storage permission to remember the last confirmed region per tab in browser memory. The data is cleared when the browser closes. - Makes no external network requests. Does not read account IDs, user names, or cookies. Notes - This extension is a reminder and does not guarantee protection against mistakes. - Changes to the console layout may move or hide the banner. - GovCloud and China region consoles are not supported.
