# Regex Highlighter Regex Highlighter is a powerful Chrome extension designed to instantly find and highlight text on any webpage using regular expressions. Searching with a Regular Expression 1. Click the extension icon in the Chrome toolbar. 2. Enter your regular expression into the main input field. 3. Click the **Search** button. 4. All matching text on the current page will be highlighted. 5. To remove the highlights, clear the input field and click **Search** again. ### 2. Generating a Regex with AI 1. Click the settings icon (⚙️) to enter your DeepSeek API key. (This is a one-time setup). 2. Click the **AI** button. 3. In the prompt window, describe the text pattern you want to match (e.g., "find all email addresses"). 4. Press **Enter**. The AI will create a regular expression and place it in the main input field. 5. Click **Search** to highlight the results on the page. ### 3. Using the History 1. Click the **History** button to view a list of your previously generated expressions. 2. Hover over an item to see the full query and expression if the text is too long. 3. Click the **Copy** button next to an item to instantly copy the regex to the main input field. 4. Click the **Delete** button to remove an item from your history. ## Privacy We value your privacy. Your DeepSeek API key and regex history are stored exclusively on your local computer and are never transmitted to any external servers.
