Overview

Auto refresh any tab and get page change alerts. Watch an element or a keyword, auto-click, rules. Free, no account, private.

Auto refresh any Chrome tab on a timer, and get told the moment the page changes. RefreshWatch reloads the page for you, checks what you care about after each reload, and alerts you with a notification and a sound. Everything runs on your computer. There is no account, and nothing you watch is sent anywhere. Use it when you are waiting for something: a restock alert for sold-out sizes, a ticket drop, a visa or appointment slot, a new job post, a price change, or a dashboard that needs to stay current. Free, with no paid tier. Every feature below is free, with no limits on tabs or rules: - Refresh timer for any tab: presets of 5 s, 10 s, 30 s, 1 min, 5 min and 15 min, a custom interval from 1 second to 24 hours, or a random interval between two values. A countdown on the toolbar icon shows when the next reload comes. - Stop on your terms: after a number of refreshes, at a clock time, or as soon as the change you are watching for happens. - Page monitor: compare the visible text of the whole page after each reload, or pick one element (a price, a seat map, a status line) and be alerted only when that part changes. - Keyword alert: get alerted when a word or phrase appears, such as "In stock", or when one disappears, such as "No appointments available". - Ignore changing numbers, so clocks and counters don't trigger false alerts. - Alerts your way: a desktop notification (click it to jump to the tab), one of five sounds with adjustable volume, bringing the tab to the front, and stopping the refresh. - Click a button after reload: pick a button on the page and RefreshWatch clicks it after each reload, with a delay you choose. - Saved rules: save a page as a rule (exact address, starts with, or wildcard) and monitoring starts on its own whenever you open a matching page. Edit, turn off or delete rules on the options page. - Change log: the last 50 changes, with the time, the page and the text before and after. - Hard refresh that skips the cache, refresh only while you are on another tab, and keep your scroll position after each auto reload. - Available in English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese. If you were looking for an auto refresh extension that can also monitor a website for changes, this is one tool for both: a simple way to refresh a page automatically, and a website change monitor that tells you what changed. Privacy. RefreshWatch has no account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no remote code, and it makes no network requests of its own. The text it compares, your rules, your settings and the change log are stored only in Chrome's storage on your computer, and are deleted when you remove the extension. Permissions, in plain words: - Alarms: to time the refreshes, even when Chrome puts the extension to sleep between them. - Storage: to keep your rules, settings and change log on your computer. - Notifications: to show the alert when a page changes. - Scripting: to read the watched text, run the element picker, click the button you picked and restore your scroll position, only on sites you have allowed. - Offscreen: to play the alert sound. - Active tab: to work with the tab you are on when you open RefreshWatch. - Site access is optional and asked for one site at a time. Plain auto refresh needs none. RefreshWatch asks for a site only when you turn on watching, clicking, keeping the scroll position, or a saved rule for that site, so installing it shows no "read all your data" warning. Good to know: - Without site access, plain auto refresh can't tell when you leave the site, so it keeps refreshing that tab until you stop it. - Chrome doesn't let extensions read or script chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store, so only auto refresh works there. - After RefreshWatch updates, running timers restart on open tabs that match a saved rule; other tabs need to be started again. - RefreshWatch watches pages in open tabs. It doesn't check pages in the cloud while Chrome is closed.
