Refresh & Throttle
Overview
Auto-refresh a tab on a timer (with an optional refresh limit) and slow its downloads to a chosen KB/s.
Auto Refresh & Slow Load gives every tab two tools: a reload timer and a download speed limit. Auto refresh • Reload the tab every N seconds, from 1 second up to 24 hours • Set a limit, such as "stop after 10 refreshes", or leave it unlimited • One-click on/off switch with a live countdown • The toolbar badge shows how many refreshes are left Slow load • Cap a tab's download speed with a draggable slider, from 5 KB/s to 5 MB/s • Switch it on and off any time • See how a page behaves on a slow connection without changing your real network Handy for • Developers and QA testing loading states, lazy loading and slow-network behaviour • Watching a page for changes, such as stock, tickets or status pages • Reproducing "it's slow for some users" bugs Good to know • Settings are per tab, and other tabs are never affected • Slow load applies only to the tab you switch it on for • In Chrome, slow load uses the browser's debugging feature, so Chrome shows a "started debugging this browser" bar while it's on • Auto refresh doesn't run on browser-internal pages such as chrome:// or about: • Tabs open before you installed the extension need one manual reload Privacy No accounts, no analytics and no data collection. Settings stay in your browser and are cleared when you close it. Nothing is sent anywhere.
