It works. When you reply and the recipient reads the email sees the highlighted area knowing that it has been quoted but if you the recipient opens the email in a third party mobile app (other that Gmail app, specifically Spark App), it just displays as regular text, not even in quotes or brackets. Still is a great tweak. Thank you.

Very useful extension that works well. Should be native to gmail. Thanks for inventing this.

Simple and awesome. Thank you! Is the code open source and available anywhere? It'd be useful if the selected text is copied and pasted 'above' the original email, where I can reply. Instead of replying solely inline as at the moment.
Hi! Sorry to get to this late. It's not open source, because it's part of a big working repo that I'm sharing with my cofounder. But if you ping me at this email, happy to email it over. I'll also add that your comment makes me think that you're trying to use it in a different way than I intended it? Like, if you open the reply window below an email, go up (to the original email in the "read" view) and then highlight and press the "quote" button, then it'll insert the quoted text inside the compose window. So it takes things from outside compose and puts it in. That's a slightly different flow (and if you look at the screenshot, you might get an idea of what I mean).

This is a pretty convenient tool for quoting things in previous emails. Intuitive and easy to use.
