Transcribe Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook videos from the page you're watching. Click the floating “Transcribe video” button, press your configured shortcut, or paste a link into ReelScribe. Keep browsing while your video is processed. A desktop notification tells you when an individual transcript is ready or processing fails. The popup shows your credit balance, recent transcripts and available video statistics. • Movable page button: drag it anywhere in the window. Its position is saved on your device. Shift + arrow keys moves the focused button; Shift + Home resets it. Hide or show it in Settings. • Your keyboard shortcut: choose your own combination in Chrome. Confirm the detected video URL, or enable optional direct submission. New installations have no preset shortcut. • Auto-copy when ready: transcripts started with the floating video button or hotkey copy automatically when completed, including while you browse another tab. Completed duplicates copy immediately. Expanding a completed transcript in the popup also copies it. Disable auto-copy in Settings to prevent automatic clipboard replacement. • Clear recent results: video titles or captions identify transcripts; long titles scroll on hover. Platform icons open the original video. A separate creator icon opens its channel when available; hover to see the creator name. • Video metadata: small icons show available views, likes, comments and duration. Hover abbreviated counts for exact values. • Include comments: optionally extract a selection of top comments from Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, with pinned/creator comments first where available. Read them below the transcript. Your preference applies to shortcuts and can be changed in the confirmation dialog. The total remains 1 credit per new video. Existing transcripts reuse saved comments without new extraction. This does not retrieve the entire thread. Facebook comment extraction is unavailable. • Free profile insights: see average likes and comments on Instagram, or total reactions and comments on Facebook, plus follower-based engagement from available loaded-page counts. Each metric shows its sample size. TikTok and YouTube grids without like/comment counts show a compact availability note. Hover the circled info icon for the calculation. On Instagram, Analyze more samples additional loaded posts without scrolling or moving keyboard focus. Turn the strip and collection on/off with Settings → Show profile insights. Missing counts are excluded. No analysis credits or requests are used. • Appearance: follows your system theme by default; choose System, Light or Dark in Settings. INSTAGRAM CHANNEL TRANSCRIPTION On an Instagram profile, click “Transcribe channel” and choose 1–50 reels with an optional posted-after date. Confirm the credit cost before starting. Channel jobs require a paid plan and reserve one credit per requested reel under ReelScribe's refund rules. Open the web app for channel progress and results. Batch submission, CSV import, downloads, library management, analytics and billing remain in the web app. GET STARTED 1. Create a ReelScribe account and API key at https://reelscribe.app/api. 2. Read the popup's data-handling disclosure and save your key. 3. In Settings → Choose shortcut, assign your preferred combination in Chrome. 4. Open a supported video and use the page button or shortcut, or paste its URL into the popup. A ReelScribe account and API key are required. New transcriptions spend account credits; reusing an existing transcript spends no additional credit. Failed transcriptions are refunded by ReelScribe. Available plans, credits and retention are shown in the app. Chrome 120 or later is required. PRIVACY Your API key is stored locally and sent over HTTPS only to ReelScribe for authentication. Selected video URLs or Instagram channel identifiers are submitted to ReelScribe; results are processed and retained through its service providers under the privacy policy. The extension retrieves your credit balance and transcripts. Supported page URLs are checked locally to show the relevant button. A confirmed YouTube submission may also store its visible title and creator link locally for your recent results. Up to 50 submitted-video metadata entries are retained and cleared on disconnect. The extension sends a video URL or channel identifier only after confirmation or your configured direct-submission shortcut. It does not track unrelated browsing, include an analytics SDK, display advertising or execute remote code. With auto-copy enabled, the extension writes the requested transcript to the clipboard; it never reads clipboard contents. General campaign labels on links to ReelScribe measure referrals without containing API keys or video URLs. Optional profile insights read available post identifiers, like or reaction counts, comment counts and follower counts. The sample stays in tab memory, resets when changing profiles and is discarded when the tab closes. It is not saved persistently or sent to ReelScribe or another analysis service. Settings → Show profile insights hides the strip and stops this collection immediately.
