Overview

Stops automatic redirects and ad pop-ups to foreign domains on the sites you choose.

Ever clicked "Continue" on a page – and the moment before your click lands, a script throws you onto some random ad site? The page you were on is gone, the button you needed with it, and you're stuck closing tabs you never asked for. Redirect Guard ends that. You decide which sites are no longer allowed to send you away. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW IT WORKS Open a site, click the shield, switch protection on. That's it. From then on, that domain plays by your rules: • Automatic redirects are blocked Whether a script changes the address, a meta refresh fires or a hidden form submits itself – if it tries to leave the domain without you, it's stopped before the new page even starts loading. The page you were on stays exactly where it is. • Your clicks still work Redirect Guard knows the difference between you clicking a link and a script pretending you did. Real clicks pass through as usual – you stay in control, not the page. • Pop-ups and surprise tabs get closed New tabs or windows pointing to foreign domains are closed instantly. Exception: the tab comes from a link you actually clicked. Ad scripts that hijack your click to open something else are caught – your real link still opens. • Emergency brake Some redirects come from places a page can't fully control, like ad iframes or invisible overlays. If one of them slips through, Redirect Guard notices and takes you straight back – often with the page restored exactly as you left it. • Strict mode For particularly pushy sites: every switch to a foreign domain needs your confirmation, even after a click. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ YOU DECIDE – RIGHT WHEN IT HAPPENS Every time something is blocked, a small notice appears in the corner showing exactly where the page tried to send you. One click and you choose: • Open anyway – if you actually wanted to go there • Always allow – the target is trusted from now on (e.g. a partner domain) • Always block – that ad domain is banned from all your protected sites, for good. No more notices, no more surprises. Just silence. All lists can be reviewed and edited in the pop-up at any time. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVACY FIRST – FOR REAL • No data collection. None. • No tracking, no analytics, no ads, no accounts. • No network connections – the extension never phones home. • Runs only on the domains you protect. Site access is requested individually for each domain, so the browser shows you exactly what you're granting. • All settings stay locally in your browser. Remove the extension and everything is gone. Redirect Guard doesn't read page content, form inputs or passwords. It only watches one thing: where a protected page is trying to send you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FEATURES AT A GLANCE • Per-domain protection with one click • Blocks script redirects, meta refresh and auto-submitted forms to foreign domains • Lets real user clicks through • Closes foreign pop-ups and new tabs (except from links you clicked) • Emergency brake for redirects from ad iframes and overlays • Strict mode with confirmation for every foreign navigation • Per-site allow list for trusted targets • Global block list – ban ad domains from all protected sites at once • Counter on the icon showing how much was blocked in the current tab • Subdomains are handled automatically (www., cdn., …) • English and German interface, light and dark mode • Lightweight, no background noise, Manifest V3 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FREE. FOREVER. Redirect Guard is free and will stay free – no premium tier, no paywall, no "pro" features held back. We built it because we were annoyed ourselves, and we figured you are too. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ MADE BY ION.ADS Redirect Guard is built by ION.ADS from Leipzig, Germany. We believe advertising should earn attention, not hijack it – and that the user, not the page, decides where the browser goes next.
