Reddit Liberation: Feed Blocker
Overview
Chrome extension to break the distraction loop of reddit, while still maintaining it's productive utility. works on old.reddit.com
Extension to block scrolling reddit feeds, while still allowing the user to directly go on reddit comment threads through third party links (e.g. google search, or a message from a friend). Comes with a whitelist system, which allows users to specify specific subreddits the user doesn't want to block, and a blacklist system, which allows users to specify subreddits to block completely (comment threads included). Purpose: Reddit has become ubiquitous in many of our lives. Which is why it's incredibly difficult to block the entire website with a generic website blocker. As reddit can be used for both productive and unproductive means, this app aims to eliminate the unproductive time sink elements of reddit (the infinite content cycle of feeds), and keep the productive elements (e.g. finding answers through a link given by google search, or a whitelisted subreddit). This app aims to lower or eliminate time wasted by reddit in a smarter way than attempting to block it outright. I am looking to always improve the app, so any feedback is welcome.

Btw the suggested posts are still visible on the right sidebar in incognito on Desktop (with extension enabled for Incognito). Also, could you hide the front page's content instead of redirecting, like how the "Unhook - Remove YouTube Recommended & Shorts" extension hides the YouTube main page content without changing the URL. Thank you.

Quality product. It does not work when you click homepage.

Big remaining issue: When you enter a comment thread, and then click the homepage, it the Addon does not block it. Perhaps because instead of reddit.com , it's "https://www.reddit.com/?feed=home" I tried adding this to blacklist but it did not work in any iteration. So perhaps an option to block custom links as well as subreddits would be helpful. Otherwise, this app is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks.
