Reddit Comment Scraper
Overview
Scrape one Reddit thread or bulk-export all open Reddit post tabs for research.
Reddit Comment Scraper lets you capture Reddit comment threads as clean, structured data—one post at a time or in bulk from multiple open tabs. It is designed for market research, audience insights, content planning, product validation, qualitative research, and anyone who needs Reddit discussions in a reusable format. Scrape a single Reddit post, review its comments in a clean threaded view, and export to CSV, JSON, or your clipboard. For larger research projects, bulk-export all open Reddit post tabs in the current Chrome window into one combined JSON file. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Capture Reddit comment threads, including nested replies • Bulk-export multiple open Reddit post tabs • Automatically skip duplicate tabs using Reddit post IDs • Process two posts concurrently for efficient bulk collection • Automatically retry failed posts once • Keep successful results even when another tab fails • Track scraping and bulk-export progress in real time • See authors, scores, timestamps, links, and reply nesting • Export single posts to CSV or JSON • Copy structured single-post data to your clipboard • Download one combined JSON file for bulk research • Choose exactly which fields to include in every export • Revisit previous single-post scrapes from your local History tab SINGLE-POST EXPORT 1. Open any Reddit post with a /comments/ URL 2. Click the extension 3. Select “Scrape Comments” 4. Review the comments in a clean threaded layout 5. Export to CSV or JSON, or copy the data to your clipboard BULK EXPORT 1. Open the Reddit post tabs you want to collect in one Chrome window 2. Click the extension 3. Select “Bulk export open Reddit tabs” 4. Review the unique posts and any duplicate tabs detected 5. Select “Start bulk export” 6. Follow the live progress for each post 7. Receive one combined batch JSON file when the export finishes The persistent bulk-export page owns the job, so closing the extension popup does not interrupt an export. Bulk exports process two posts at a time, retry failures once, and preserve both successful results and useful failure details. Duplicate tabs are skipped automatically. CONTROL WHAT YOU EXPORT Use the Include in export settings to choose which fields appear in CSV, JSON, clipboard, and bulk JSON exports. Available field groups include: • Post title • Comment body • Subreddit • Post and comment scores • Comment authors and timestamps • Thread IDs, parent IDs, and nesting depth • Comment links • Post URL • Additional metadata These settings are also respected during bulk export. For example, you can keep only the post title and comment body to create much smaller research files. Reddit post IDs are always retained in batch exports so posts remain identifiable and deduplicatable. EXPORT OPTIONS • CSV — compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, Airtable, and other spreadsheet tools • JSON — clean structured data for research tools, scripts, databases, and developer workflows • Clipboard — copy a single structured thread and paste it anywhere • Batch JSON — one combined file containing multiple Reddit threads, summary counts, and failure details BUILT FOR • Market and competitor research • Audience and customer insights • Pain-point discovery • Product validation • Content research and planning • Qualitative analysis • Structured Reddit data collection PRIVACY FIRST All scraping, parsing, storage, and exporting happens locally in your browser. The extension fetches post and comment data directly from Reddit’s own public JSON endpoints. No scraped data is sent to any developer-controlled server. The extension has: • No backend • No analytics • No advertising • No tracking • No developer-operated account system • No sale or sharing of scraped data Your export settings and scrape history are stored only on your device using Chrome’s local extension storage. You can remove this data at any time by clearing the extension’s history or storage. Works on reddit.com and old.reddit.com.
