Overview

Export accessible Reddit comments and replies to CSV, JSON, or XLSX with IDs, text, author, time, score, depth, and links.

Export comments and replies from one accessible Reddit post to CSV, JSON, or XLSX for discussion review, user research, feedback organization, and local archiving Turn the discussion available to your current browser session into a structured local file without copying comments one by one. Choose 20, 50, 200, 1,000 rows, or All available, and select CSV, JSON, or XLSX. The same 12-field schema is used in every format. A supported new Reddit desktop post can also show an Export comments button; other supported pages can start from the toolbar popup. A completed task with at least one row downloads automatically. Default: 50 rows; request pacing: 1-5s / 8-10s / 10-12s / 12-15s (randomized within the range). What you get Core comment information comes first, followed by reply relationships and compact post context. The following values are fictional examples: • comment_id:Stable comment ID for deduplication and joins. Fictional example: t1_c2 • comment_text:Comment body for reading, search, and topic coding. Fictional example: Example feedback • created_at:Comment time normalized to ISO 8601 UTC. Fictional example: 2026-09-08T08:30:00Z • author:Comment author. Fictional example: example_user • score:Score snapshot at export time; blank when Reddit hides it. Fictional example: 42 • parent_comment_id:Parent comment ID; blank for a top-level comment. Fictional example: t1_c1 • depth:Position in the reply tree; a top-level comment is 0. Fictional example: 1 • permalink:Permanent link back to the original comment. Fictional example: https://www.reddit.com/r/example/comments/abc123/example/c2/ • post_title:Source post title for identifying merged exports. Fictional example: Example discussion • post_url:Normalized Reddit post URL for checking the full discussion. Fictional example: https://www.reddit.com/r/example/comments/abc123/example/ • post_created_at:Source post publication time. Fictional example: 2026-09-08T08:00:00Z • subreddit:Community name for grouping rows. Fictional example: example Optional values that Reddit does not return remain blank and are never guessed. Post body is not collected or repeated on each comment row. Derived link lists and a duplicate source URL are intentionally omitted. Deleted or removed comments without usable text are skipped. How it works and recovery The main path reads the selected thread JSON and follows Reddit's morechildren queue in batches of up to 100 child IDs with a short interval. If public JSON is rejected, the network fails, or the structure cannot be recognized, the extension can fall back to comments already rendered on the same page; it does not scan other posts. The task stores its target, settings, confirmed rows, deduplication state, and pending replies locally. Pause, Resume, Stop, partial results, and local History keep confirmed work available. If an interruption cannot be resumed safely, the task enters Attention instead of pretending to be complete. Privacy and limits Exports, task state, and recent History remain in extension storage and Chrome downloads and are not uploaded to Web Tidy. The extension does not require a Web Tidy account. It uses same-site read-only requests under the Reddit session that is already available, but it does not read, record, or persist cookie, Authorization, CSRF, or token values. It does not request Chrome cookies, identity, webRequest, or scripting permissions, connect to Google Docs, or execute remote code. The extension processes one explicit Reddit post URL at a time. It does not search all of Reddit, monitor a subreddit, bypass login, age/NSFW gates, verification, access controls, or rate limits, or promise hidden, private, deleted, collapsed, complete historical, or not-yet-returned comments. It does not post, comment, vote, message, follow, enrich contact details, profile users, or perform sentiment analysis. All available means everything this task can actually read, not an unlimited or complete archive. Web Tidy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit.
