This picture is of the Hibiscus sabdariffa fruit, also known as the red hibiscus. The fruit has a prominent bright red calyx, a shiny and slightly wrinkled surface, with pointed calyxes that curve slightly outward. The calyxes grow in clusters along the stem, alternating with long, slender leaves with slightly serrated edges. The brilliant red color of the Hibiscus is often used to make tea, syrup or jam, which is both beautiful and has a characteristic sour taste.
