Recordock is a local-first Chrome screen recorder for capturing a browser tab, application window, or complete monitor. Select a source through Chrome’s native screen-sharing interface, choose whether to request available screen audio, and continue recording even after the extension popup closes. When the recording is finished, preview it and download it locally as a WebM file. Open Recordock. 2. Choose whether Screen audio should be requested. 3. Select Start Recording. 4. Choose a browser tab, application window, or monitor from Chrome’s source picker. 5. Continue recording while the popup is open or closed. 6. Reopen Recordock and select Stop Recording, or use Chrome’s native Stop Sharing control. 7. Preview the completed recording. 8. Download the recording as a WebM file. PRIVACY Recordock is designed as a local-first screen recorder. Recordings are created and processed locally inside Chrome. The latest recording and temporary recording-session information may be stored locally in browser extension storage so Recordock can restore its state and provide preview and download functionality. Recordock does not transmit recordings, captured audio, browsing activity, or recording metadata to developer-operated servers. PERMISSIONS Offscreen: Used to keep the recording process running after the extension popup closes. Storage: Used to preserve temporary recording state and restore the latest locally saved recording. Recordock does not request host permissions or general access to every website. CURRENT FORMAT Recordock currently creates WebM recordings. Microphone recording, camera overlays, video editing, cloud storage, public sharing links, and additional export formats are not included in this release.
