Overview

Recipe extractor turns any recipe page into a clean card: ingredients, steps, photo and a print view. No ads, fully local.

Recipe Extractor turns any cluttered cooking page into a clean recipe card with one click. No ads, no popups, no life stories before the actual dish — just the recipe, ready to cook from or print. Tired of scrolling past banners and videos to find the instructions? This recipe extractor reads the structured data already embedded in the page, so the result is instant, accurate and works completely offline. Nothing is sent to any server: the recipe extraction happens locally in your browser, on the page you are already viewing. ✨ WHAT THIS RECIPE EXTRACTOR DOES 🍳 One-click recipe extraction on virtually every major food site 🧾 Clean recipe card: photo, title, servings, prep, cook and total time, calories ✅ Interactive ingredients list with checkboxes — tick items off as you add them 🔢 Numbered steps, with section headings preserved 🖨️ Print recipe view: a tidy, ink-friendly layout for your kitchen binder 📋 Copy recipe as plain text to paste into notes, chats or any recipe saver app 🔒 Works locally — no account, no tracking, no external requests 🌍 Interface available in 33 languages HOW TO USE THE RECIPE EXTRACTOR 1. Open any recipe page — a food blog, a magazine, a culinary site. 2. Click the Recipe Extractor icon in your toolbar. 3. The extension finds the recipe and shows a clean card instantly. 4. Cook from the card, copy the text, or send it straight to the printer. HOW THE RECIPE EXTRACTION WORKS, STEP BY STEP Step 1: The recipe extractor scans the page for schema.org structured data (JSON-LD), the same format search engines read. Step 2: If a site uses older markup, the recipe extraction still works reliably through a microdata fallback. Step 3: Ingredients, instructions, times and nutrition are normalized — ISO durations become readable text like "1 h 30 min". Step 4: The clean recipe card opens in the popup, with the ingredients list and steps ready to use. WHAT GETS EXTRACTED • Title, photo and author of the dish • Full ingredients list with quantities • Instructions as numbered steps, including grouped sections • Yield and servings • Prep time, cook time and total time in readable form • Calories, cuisine and category when the site provides them WHY COOKS KEEP THIS RECIPE CLIPPER PINNED The web is wonderful for discovering food, but terrible for actually cooking from. A recipe clipper that strips the noise changes that: you get a distraction-cleared view while your hands are covered in flour. Use the checkboxes as a shopping companion in the store, then again at the counter while measuring. When a dish becomes a family favorite, print recipe cards for your binder or copy the plain text into the notes app you already love. This recipe extractor does one job and does it carefully. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: Does the recipe extractor work on every website? A: The recipe extractor works on any site that publishes structured recipe data — which includes nearly all large recipe sites and most food blogs. If a page has no machine-readable recipe, the extension tells you politely instead of guessing. Q: Does it need an account or send my data anywhere? A: No. The recipe extraction is performed entirely on your device. The extension has no servers, no analytics and requests access only to the tab where you click it. Q: Can I save recipes for later? A: Use Copy recipe to export clean plain text into any notes or recipe saver app, or the print view to create paper copies for your binder. Your collection stays wherever you want it. Q: Does the print view waste ink? A: No. The print recipe layout removes heavy backgrounds, ads and colors, leaving a crisp two-column card: ingredients on the left, steps on the right. Q: Why does the recipe extractor need the "read page" permission? A: It activates only when you click the icon, reads the recipe markup of that single tab, renders the card and stops. It never runs in the background. PERFECT FOR • Weeknight cooking from food blogs without the clutter • Building a printed binder of family favorites • Meal planning: copy ingredients into your shopping app • Hands-busy moments with a tablet propped in the kitchen • Anyone who wants recipe extraction without sign-ups or subscriptions Install Recipe Extractor, open any recipe page you love, click the icon — and see the recipe the way it should look: clean, complete and ready to cook.
