RealTalk: learn English from what you watch
Overview
Click any word in YouTube and Netflix subtitles to see what it means there, save phrases with their scene, and say them for real.
RealTalk turns the English subtitles on YouTube and Netflix into something you learn from, and then into something you say. • Click any word or phrase in the subtitles. You see what it means in that scene, in Korean, with a short note on how it's used. • Phrases worth learning at your level are underlined. One click takes the whole phrase. • Pause, and the show's own Korean subtitle appears under the English line (on Netflix, the Korean subtitles you chose; elsewhere a translation). • A side panel lists every line beside the video. Click a line to hear it again; A, S and D go back, repeat and forward. • "Listen first" blurs each line until you've heard it. • Save a phrase, or a whole line, with the moment it was said. A few minutes later, and when the video ends, RealTalk asks you to say what you saved from its meaning. • What you save goes to your RealTalk account. It becomes a speaking card (a situation, and you say the English), and it comes up in your next conversation with RealTalk's AI voice partner. Works on YouTube and Netflix watch pages in Chrome on a computer. You need a RealTalk account (free to start). Privacy: the extension sends RealTalk only what you look up or save, and the subtitle lines of the video you're watching, to underline phrases and translate lines. It doesn't read your browsing history, and it doesn't sell or share data.
