ReadScore is a Chrome extension that analyzes the readability of any web page. Open it on any page to instantly see the reading level, readability score, words per sentence, and total word count. The analysis runs entirely in your browser using transparent, rule-based criteria with no external processing involved. ReadScore also includes AI-powered page summaries using Chrome's built-in summarizer. You can choose the summary type and length, and the result appears in a draggable panel directly on the page. No page content is sent to any server. AI summaries require Chrome's built-in summarizer, currently available on Chrome 138 and above. All other features work on any Chromium-based browser. A set of focused reading tools lets you change how you experience any page. Focus Mode rebuilds the page into a cleaner reading layout with adjustable text size, line spacing, and letter spacing. Tracking Assist improves line and word tracking for easier reading. Reading Guide adds a line-by-line focus ruler that follows your position on the page. You can also run readability checks on any text you highlight on the page. Short selections are flagged with a clear warning, and all results are shown directly in the extension popup. All features run locally within your browser. ReadScore does not operate a backend, connect to external APIs, or collect any data. Preferences such as reading tool states and AI summary settings are saved locally with no account required.
