ReadMate is a webpage reading assistant that works in Chrome's native side panel. After you explicitly open ReadMate, the extension extracts the title and main text of the current page. It helps you understand the content, organize key ideas, and ask follow-up questions grounded in the page. Key features: • Extract and refresh the current webpage content • Summarize content, organize key points, and support multi-turn questions • Stream responses with controls to stop, copy, and clear conversations • Use built-in reading mates or create custom ones • Store settings, custom reading mates, and conversations locally in the browser • Chinese and English interface • Keyboard shortcuts for opening the side panel, clearing the current conversation, and selecting the default reading mate Model connection: ReadMate does not provide or resell model services. Before use, you need to configure an API endpoint, model name, and access credentials that you are authorized to use. The extension accesses an API origin only after you save the configuration and approve the permission request. Privacy: ReadMate reads the active page only after you explicitly open the extension. Page content, your question, and the necessary conversation history are sent directly to your configured model service only after you submit a message. Requests are not routed through a server operated by the ReadMate developer. API keys are session-only by default. You may explicitly choose to remember a key on your device. Exported configuration files never include API keys. ReadMate is designed for reading articles, technical documentation, blogs, tutorials, and other long-form web content.
