Simplify Web Text for Kids Reading Tuner is an open source (https://github.com/kenkawakenkenke/readingtuner) Chrome extension developed to help children understand web content better by simplifying text based on their age. It adjusts the complexity of the text to match the reader's comprehension level, making browsing more educational and less daunting for young learners. Main Features: Adjust Text Complexity: Use a simple slider to set the target age, anywhere from 5 to 100 years old. The text on the web page adjusts accordingly to match the developmental stage. Privacy Respected: Your settings are stored locally, and the extension does not track or share any personal information. Installation: Add Reading Tuner to Chrome. Configuration: Click the toolbar icon and open the "Details" page to enter your OpenAI API Key. (entering your key here lets me provide you this tool without me paying for your OpenAI usage..) Use: Just navigate to any article or text-heavy web page, and the extension handles the rest, presenting the content at an appropriate reading level.
