Overview

Dyslexia-friendly reading: spacing & fonts, reading ruler, calm mode, and multilingual text-to-speech with natural voices.

Reading on a screen can be tiring — long paragraphs turn into one big block, you lose your place, and you re-read the same line twice. ReadEase is built around that exact problem: keeping your place and staying focused, not "fixing" how you read. Everything runs locally in your browser. There are no accounts and no ads, and your reading isn't sent anywhere unless you explicitly turn on an optional cloud voice or the AI simplifier. WHAT YOU CAN DO • One-click dyslexia-friendly preset — applies a British Dyslexia Association baseline: a legible font, ~1.5 line spacing, extra letter/word spacing, an off-white background, left-aligned text and no italics. • Fonts & spacing — choose legibility fonts (Atkinson Hyperlegible, OpenDyslexic, Lexend, Andika) or multilingual Noto fonts (Arabic, Devanagari, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Hebrew and more), then fine-tune size, line/letter/word spacing, width and background tint. • Reading ruler & line focus — a highlight band follows your cursor and dims the rest; click a line to lock it and step with the arrow keys, or reveal just 1, 3 or 5 lines at a time. • Calm mode — keep the page you know but strip ads, pop-ups, sticky bars, chat widgets and animations. A full clean reading view is one click away too. • Text-to-speech — read the page or your selection aloud with word-by-word highlighting. Use free built-in voices, or add smooth neural voices in 40+ languages. • Reading aids — syllable splitting (syl·la·bles), a double-click dictionary that speaks the word, a reading pacer, a progress bar, and "resume where I left off". • Colour & vision tools — colour-vision correction (protan/deutan/tritan and monochromacy) with adjustable strength, simulate mode, saturation/contrast boosts, link underlines so meaning isn't colour-only, and a colourblind-safe highlight palette. • Popup or sidebar — dock ReadEase beside the page while you read, or use it as a quick popup. The interface itself follows the British Dyslexia Association style guide: sans-serif type, off-white background, left-aligned text and AA-contrast colours. Made by NHR SOFT — www.nhrsoft.com
