Readable strips away ads, sidebars, and clutter from articles and reflows the text into a clean, typography-tunable reading column — with settings that remember themselves per site. WHAT IT DOES - Toggles reader mode on the current page with one click, extracting just the article content - Shows an estimated read time so you know what you're committing to before you start - Lets you adjust font, text size, line width (default 66 characters for comfortable reading), and reading theme - Saves your preferred settings for a specific site so it looks right every time you return - Falls back to sensible global defaults for any site you haven't customized - Lists every site with a saved override in one place, with a one-click reset back to defaults HOW IT WORKS Click the toolbar icon on any article page and Readable analyzes the content in the page you're viewing, removing navigation, sponsored blocks, and other distractions, then rebuilds the article in a clean column using your chosen font, size, width, and theme. If a page has no identifiable article content, Readable tells you plainly instead of guessing. Adjust the settings in the popup and click "Save for this site" to lock in a look for that domain — everything else keeps using your global defaults, which you can edit anytime from the options page. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Readable only ever looks at the page you're actively viewing, and it doesn't request access to your browsing on other sites. Your global defaults and per-site overrides are stored locally in your browser — there's nothing to sync to a server and nothing for the extension to see beyond the tab you click it on.
