Overview

Save any page as a readable, full-text-searchable article — 100% local, no account. A private read-later library with Pocket import.

Read Later saves any page as a clean, readable article—stripped of ads, nav, and clutter—into a private library on your device. No account, no cloud sync, and no analytics. Built for people leaving Pocket • One click (or Alt+Shift+S) saves the current page as a readable article. • Full-text search across your entire library, not just titles. • Import your Pocket export (.csv or ril_export.html) — up to 20,000 links. • Right-click any link to save it without opening it. Clean reading, always available • A distraction-free reader pane: original typography stripped down, images kept, ads and scripts gone. • Unread badge on the toolbar icon; Archive and Delete from the list or the reader. • Works offline — once saved, an article is yours, even if the original page disappears. 🔒 Private by design • Everything is stored locally in the browser (IndexedDB). Nothing is uploaded, synced, or tracked. • No permission to read pages in the background — extraction only runs when you click Save, use the shortcut, or right-click a link. • Optional, off-by-default permission to fetch full text for imported links (the extension asks the first time you use "Fetch article" on an imported item, and you can revoke it anytime from Options). Free, no upsell inside. If something doesn't work, use "Report a problem" on the options page — reports go straight to the developer.
